This book is similar to LUAS Harcourt Street Memories in that it practically counts as a PR exercise for Irish Rail, the State owned railway company in the Republic of
Ireland, to the extent that the Chief Executive of this operation has written the foreword. From an IH perspective, you will not be satisfied with this publication as the
photographs contained therein are exclusively of a train related nature, each photo backed up with text extolling the virtues of IR. In addition, most of the photos are
credited to IR, hence backing up my previous assertion.
A point worth commenting on is on p. 68 where the author states "IE is the custodian of many important and historic buildings which are a part of the nation's
architectural heritage". What he neglected to state is that the company in question is also systematically destroying same with little regard for heritage.
